Au lieu d\u2019opter pour des arbres fra\u00eechement coup\u00e9s, elle se tourne davantage vers l\u2019industrie de transformation du bois d\u2019\u0153uvre. Ainsi, les papiers et les cartons d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui sont fabriqu\u00e9s, pour plus de 65%, \u00e0 partir de copeaux et de retailles de bois provenant d\u2019usines de sciage qu\u00e9b\u00e9coises. Des copeaux et des retailles qui, \u00e0 une \u00e9poque pas si lointaine, \u00e9taient consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des d\u00e9chets! Quant aux fibres recycl\u00e9es, elles repr\u00e9sentent souvent plus de 20% de l\u2019approvisionnement, selon les types de papier\/carton fabriqu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>La demande pour du papier\/carton contenant des fibres recycl\u00e9es s\u2019est toutefois grandement accrue au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Un bel exemple est celui des \u00e9diteurs de livres et de magazines, qui exercent des pressions afin que de plus grandes quantit\u00e9s de papiers recycl\u00e9s, incluant des fibres postconsommation, soient produites par les papeti\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>Bien que la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration du papier\/carton s\u2019effectue depuis longtemps, de nombreuses questions subsistent relativement \u00e0 certains contenants, emballages et imprim\u00e9s compos\u00e9s de ces mati\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>La majorit\u00e9 des imprim\u00e9s de papier\/carton peuvent \u00eatre r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s partout.<br \/>\nQuant aux contenants et emballages, les produits cir\u00e9s ou lamin\u00e9s (sacs \u00e0 caf\u00e9, sacs \u00e0 biscuits, sacs-cadeaux, verres \u00e0 caf\u00e9, papier \u00e0 muffin, barquettes de papier, enveloppes \u00e0 bulles, bo\u00eetes de carton cir\u00e9es, etc.) et les composites (contenants de croustilles de type Pringles, de jus congel\u00e9, etc.), il sont accept\u00e9s dans les bacs de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration depuis 2025.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/2&Prime;][vc_single_image media=\u00a0\u00bb103383&Prime; media_width_percent=\u00a0\u00bb100&Prime; uncode_shortcode_id=\u00a0\u00bb581105&Prime;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=\u00a0\u00bb116982&Prime;]Enfin, les contenants et emballages souill\u00e9s au cours de leur utilisation (bo\u00eetes de pizza, bo\u00eetes de beignes, etc.) occasionnent eux aussi des probl\u00e8mes au cours de leur recyclage et ne sont habituellement pas accept\u00e9s par les r\u00e9cup\u00e9rateurs. Le compostage permet de mieux les mettre en valeur.<\/p>\n<p>En plus de pr\u00e9server la ressource, le recyclage du papier\/carton permet un important gain net d\u2019\u00e9nergie. Une bouteille collect\u00e9e et recycl\u00e9e donnera une nouvelle bouteille.<\/p>\n<p>Le verre collect\u00e9 est d\u00e9barrass\u00e9 des impuret\u00e9s, telles que les \u00e9tiquettes et bouchons, par frottement. Puis, il est broy\u00e9, c&rsquo;est ce que l&rsquo;on appelle le \u00ab calcin \u00bb ou le \u00ab groisil \u00bb. Ensuite, il est directement introduit dans le four, il ne faut rien ajouter. La d\u00e9pense \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique est moindre puisque le calcin fond \u00e0 1 000 \u00b0C alors que la mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re n\u00e9cessite une temp\u00e9rature de 1 500 \u00b0C. Ainsi, fabriquer du verre avec du calcin permet d&rsquo;\u00e9conomiser de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie. Il existe une tr\u00e8s grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de plastiques aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes.<\/p>\n<p>Chaque contenant a un num\u00e9ro emboss\u00e9 qui identifie le type de plastique mais, depuis 2025, tous les contenants ou emballages en plastique sont recycl\u00e9s au Qu\u00e9bec, peu importe le num\u00e9ro.<\/p>\n<p>Les bouteilles plastiques envoy\u00e9es au recyclage sont nettoy\u00e9es et le papier de l&rsquo;\u00e9tiquette est \u00e9limin\u00e9. Les bouteilles sont ensuite broy\u00e9es et transform\u00e9es en paillettes et en granul\u00e9s qui serviront \u00e0 fabriquer de nouveaux objets, comme s&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agissait d&rsquo;une nouvelle mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re.
